White Flight @ Backstage

Walkie (or anyone else), any word on this? Read in the City Paper that it's the "noisier" side of Black Eyes.  Playing this Tuesday at the Backstage.  Just wondering if it's worth checking out.

nkotbie,

white flight is indeed the noisier aspect of black eyes. a lot of people who like them aren't able to get into what white flight are doing. it's very abstract and influenced by free jazz and abrasive noise. if you're prone to enjoying this type of stuff, you may dig them (i recall you saying you like wolf eyes, so my guess is that you could find something to appreciate about white flight).

the tuesday show at the black cat also has manhunter and food for animals on the bill. manhunter is one dude who plays strictly electronic stuff, and food for animals is a local hip-hop duo who rap about weird-ass shit. should be a good show, though i'll be at emmylou harris at the wolf trap instead.

if you don't make this one, i booked white flight at the warehouse on wednesday, 8/25, with a new black eyes project called horses (comprised of hugh and mike from the black eyes and fiona from et at it). they'll be opening for black forest/black sea and the big huge. black forest/black sea is a folk/psych duo from providence who used to be in the iditarod, and if you like damon & naomi and donovan and nick drake, you should check this show out. the big huge is drew nelson from baltimore, who used to be in sonna. he does a solo guitar folk thing with xylophone and accordion accompaniment.

Thanks for the heads up.  Turns out I can't make Tuesday's show anyway.
