I've been wondering the same thing for the longest time. This should be one of the easiest elections in US history for the Dems and half the country still supports this mental midget of a president. The guy is clearly flushing the country down the shitter domestically and has alienated almost all of our allies around the world but he still has this much support. What the fuck?

 for Bush are conservative (duh), church-going, not-college-educated, rural folks.
 
 for Kerry are urban, educated, non-religious folks.

And I'm religious.  But, I also define "respect for life" to go beyond the womb to life on earth as well.  Luckily fewer Catholics than is often assumed vote on that one issue.  Many (was most) tend to vote Democratic due to the blue collar/immigrant associations from the early to mid 20th century.
