There are not any good shows on the 31st (unless you count cover bands   :p  )  Where does everyone dress up and go for a good time?

The Stralight Mints are playing at Fletchers in Baltimore for $5.  Thats quite a good deal if you ask me, although, I am going to the Capitals game.

The Phobes, The Whips and Washington Social Club are at the Black Cat.  I may go to that.

Any opinions on these bands?  I love what I've heard from the Phobes and I've heard great things about WSC.

Velvet Lounge is having a benefit for DC Literacy somethingorother with a bunch of local bands [Assrockers, Shoddy Workmanship, Stray Pilot (former Semilunar Valve), Stave, Power Lloyd, OctoberFist, and Gist] in costumes for cheap.  It should be a good time and a great chance to hear the latest in local sound.
