Tom Jones Rollcall / DJ Setlist
« on: November 07, 2005, 12:37:00 pm »
"What's New Pussycat" to "Kiss" and beyond,it's the one and only Tom Jones, and I know everyone is going to this one!  And if Mr. Jones isn't to hot to handle then I will be on hand in the DJ booth to get everyone in the proper mood.  Boy is that new Girl Group boxset going to come in handy for this one.

I must say that Tom Jones puts on one heck of a show, although don't personally think I pay that much to see him.  While his moves are a bit stiff, the voice is still sounding great.  It's always a plus when the backup singers aren't doubling the stars vocals, usually a sign of dimished or lacking chops.  Tom's wit was in full effect as well, ahd the panties still get all the loving care they deserve.

For me the show dragged a bit during the country music section, but ended with that great 60s pop bang of "What's Up Pussycat" and "It's Not Unusual".  Tom's killer rendition of "Kiss" closed the evening out nicely, it was almost as if Prince wrote it with him in mind.

Sadly no panties were thrown at the DJ booth..

what kind of crowd goes to a show at that price? old fogies and yup-yuppies? seriously, what kind, if you dont mind sharing. maybe i can pick up a rich woman who can endow me with alimony one day. then i'll, be, uh, "well-endowed".

It was pretty mixed crowd twentysomethings and up females, couples, etc. Would say the venue was 3/4s full.  Don't know why the ticket price is so shocking considering what Stones, U2, McCartney, Aerosmith, etc tickets cost.  I paid almost a 100 sawbucks for crappy seat to see U2, more than what a really good lower bowl seat to Macca was just a couple years ago.

There were some good looking females of the species in attendence..

Someone sent me a CDR of musical Coca-Cola radio commercials recorded by various acts around 1969-1970, there are over 60 on it, and the very best one is Tom Jones doing a variation of It's Not Unusual with Coke lyrics
