can't we let the chicks with dix thing go for crying out loud? They said absolutely NOTHING wrong or unpatriotic or "un" anything else for that matter. She simply said "SHE" was ashamed of coming from the same state as dubya...had she said "YOU" should be ashamed if you come from the same state as dubya I could understand all the crap they're getting, still wouldn't agree with it, but understand why some redneck arsehole would get his western boots on the wrong feet over it.

It's a know your audience kind of thing.  Billy Bragg has no problem because many of his fans are Taliban-beard-wearing college socialist malcontents.  The Dixie Chicks had a problem because their fanbase was (in theory) hot-dogs, baseball and apple pie uber-patriots.
 
 But when it comes right down to it, the Dixie Chicks are doing fine because they are not really country anyway.  Their albums and concerts are selling like hotcakes to the adult-contemporary crowd who don't really think about politics one way or another.

Sainsbury's actually makes a passable Apple pie. I also find the over-reaction to the comments amusing, but what I also find funny is how the "plump" one is treated. Ever notice (and the grammy's is a good example) that she always is strumming a guitar,even when lip synching and no rythm guitar is required, and that they keep getting larger? At the rate she's going, next tour she'll be strumming a piano.

I had blueberry pie last night....my missus brought one home. They had cherry or blueberry and she knows I hate cherry pie so got the blueberry. I thought I didn't like blueberries either because I hate blueberry muffins and blueberry waffles etc (I hate waffles, period) Blueberry pie isn't too shabby I must say. Don't you love it when you have hot pie and cold ice-cream? There's something about the hot and cold together.
