Derf must have been late 20s when they started as he says he practiced in the same space 10 years earlier. Also a lot more musically astute than you would think (hitting tonics and what key they were playing in). Great articles!

Well Spit also says it was Derf who got them in touch with John. Says that Derf taught bass to a buddy of John.
