Water Sinks Morrissey Dates

or is it lack of sales?  conspiracy theory: low sales = close the show for a few nights for a bogus reason, re-rout folks to other nights in order to fill it up and not upset His Depressedness?

Two Morrissey shows at the Hollywood Palladium were canceled because of a broken water main, according to venue lessee Live Nation.

Morrissey was expected to have a 10-night residency at the 4,000-capacity venue in Los Angeles, but a "ruptured water pipe" resulted in a "safety issue."

Live Nation spokesman John Vlautin told Pollstar there is no serious damage to the venue and it would be up and running October 5th.

Morrissey was expected to headline the venue October 1-13 before it closes for renovation, and tickets from the canceled October 3-4 shows were to be honored at the October 8-9 performances.

Meanwhile, some tickets were discounted to $25, according to the Los Angeles Times, and the opening show was estimated at half capacity, Pollstar learned.

Lack of sales, I'm sure.  They're selling tix for a discounted rate of $45 for the 5-night stand @ Hammerstein in NYC as we speak.  Just no one seems to know the code . . . .  :(

wow, tough times for the Mozster - while hannah montana is selling out arenas.

what morrissey needs to do is dump his label, and release a free album online while allowing his fans to pay what they want.  that would get people's attention.

would anybody buy radiohead albums anymore if they had to pay the going rate? (a handful of diehards excepted of course)

I guess I don't have a pulse on what will sell out and what won't.  With his DEVOTED fanbase, whispers of a retirement and a recent reappreciation of The Smiths, I would have thought all of his shows would be sold out.  I just assumed the Rams Head Live/Halloween show was sold out.

The original show sold out, but I guess lots of  people returned their tickets.  That's what I did.  TicketMaster is still showing tickets being available.

Thanks for the info. Since I'm cheap, I'll buy at the 930 box office  :)

It's not.  AEG Live/Live Nation took care of this tour.  If you must though, you can hit up Constitution Hall to avoid fees . . .
