Fri. Feb. 3rd at Marx Cafe: "We Fought the Big One&
« on: February 01, 2006, 09:21:00 pm »
Olla!

We're pulling out all the stops this Friday night as "We Fought the Big One" hits the 2 year mark! Brandon and I have asked Zen Master Chris Diamond (aka DJ Balance) to join us behind the decks once again and it's only fitting: Chris has been instrumental to the Big One's longevity by doing such an amazing job designing all of our flyers (I humbly recommend downloading the attachment with this e-mail to see what he's come up with this month!)...

And if that isn't enough, we will also be handing out copies of our 2-year-anniversary mix cd! Woo-hoo!!! This disc contains even more rare and hard-to-find classic post-punk songs than last year's mix and contains a track that I am completely and utterly convinced makes my world go round ("Lunna Lubbe" by The Zarjaz). Then again, I could probably say that about every track on the cd. Heck, if you like these songs half as much as we do, I can pretty much guarantee you'll go ballistic...

And speaking of ballistic, our favorite Iranian terrorist Sasan---who has been known to frequent the Marx Cafe---has informed us that Sam Adams will be available on draft for $3 all night long. Sounds like party time to me!

 Hope to see you there!
Rick aka Friend O' Guy Chadwick

This was in my Best of 2005 show. LOVE this band! My favorite track by Flavor Crystals though is "Milky Way" which I've been saving for some wild set. All of their songs are very good though. Shame they are so unknown and under-appreciated. In fact, I gave them my #1 band of 2005 slot.
