Ski Trip Slideshows

The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players are packing the station wagon once again. They wrapped their Summer Slideshow Bizarre Tour '03 at the end of July, hailed it a success, and are heading back out.
This time, however, the Trachtenburg's have targeted the East Coast, with dates running from September 25 in New York and wrapping November 12 in Columbus, Ohio.
Kimya Dawson appears on most of the shows. The Trachtenburgs also have a couple post-tour gigs lined up.
Jason Trachtenburg has been in the music business some 20 years now. But it wasn't until 2000 when he put his then six-year-old daughter behind the drum kit that the Trachtenburg name hit the big time.
The kitsch threesome - mom Tina as the slideshow projectionist, little Rachel on drums and vocals, and dad Jason covering everything else - have found their niche in the indie pop world.
As the only band on record to take "people's vintage slides that we purchase at estate and yard sales and turn them into pop rock exposures," the Slideshow Players are indeed a unique find.

The Slideshow Players may be my favorite live experience of 2003.  The little girl is my rock and roll idol.
