hey rhett... i'm kicking myself big time for skipping out of the tattoo early last night.  i went up to see Not Lame recording artist Michael Carpenter who was doing a brief warmup stint for headliner Reckless Kelly, who  sounded great during their soundcheck. and because i hadn't done any research i also missed seeing friend of Norah Jones and Marshall Crenshaw co-writer Richard Julian who was the middle act.  wished i could have stayed but it was looking like a very late evening when i left.

It's an annual rally against the death penalty, held across from the Supreme Court. www.steveearle.net says he'll go on around 6ish. I've been a couple of times, he plays and talks for 45-60 mins.

Thanks, our honeymoon was the adventure of a lifetime.

It was just announced on Virgin Radio in the UK the other day that British Sea Power would be opening for Interpol in NYC soon along with a few shows up and down the East Coast.

I'd like to check out BSP as I've heard from my English friends that they put on a great show. Have just recently heard their entire works and find them good for the right mood but nothing to go wild over. The song The Spirit Of St. Louis is great fun though. And it would be nice to see Interpol again.

Actually, my most anticipated shows are not even booked yet:

Elbow - The new album Cast Of Thousands is beautiful with my favorite song being Not A Job with their single, Fallen Angel second. Buttons And Zips is also very catchy without being Poppy. Favorite song title ever is Crawling With Idiot. Even funnier knowing what pub boys those guys are.

I Am Kloot - If you like Elbow, you'll like I Am Kloot. They should be here soon because the single from their new album, Life In A Day, is taking off quite nicely earning them a slot on Top Of The Pops. The album won't be out in the UK until September. Get your babysitter lined up now Mankie!

The Rain Band - I love these guys and hear their live show is pretty powerful. They are too new to be here anytime soon but expect them to find their way across at some point. They are already working on their 2nd album yet the 1st won't even be released in the UK until July 21st! Listen out for the song Knee Deep And Down.

Elbow was here in March of 2002. They were booked for Sept. 3rd of 2002 but then cancelled their entire US tour due to being discouraged with the promoter and lack of ticket sales. (That's their story.)

I Am Kloot have never been here. One day. Maybe opening for the return of Elbow. Would be an excellent match, especially considering that Guy Garvey produced most or all of IAK's works and often teems up with them for performances.
