I did have the info about Springsteen wrong, not ALL tickets were will call.  Here's what they did to thwart scalping of the best seats (this is from the Ticketmaster press release):

"Tickets within the first 17 rows (floor sections 7-9) will be limited to one pair of tickets per customer for one show only, based on availability. These tickets will only be available through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone. Multiple orders of tickets for these rows will not be honored.

These tickets will not be mailed out. Customers who purchase these tickets must pick them up the night of the concert at Continental Airlines Arena Box Office (will call windows 13-16). Two forms of identification including the credit card used to purchase the tickets will be required. Upon pickup, the ticket buyer and guest will be escorted directly to the floor seating section."

Bottom line is this.... make ticket prices a reasonable amount and don't sell before public sale (your scalper problem goes bye-bye).  You know as well as I do that U2 has over half the arena sold before any "normal people" have a chance.  Then the tickets I have a chance at are astronomical.  If U2 wants to go on tour and make a million for each of them, they can easily achieve this with an avg. price of $40 a seat.  They of course choose not to.  Which in turn causes me to choose otherwise.  This is the same guy who speaks wisdom out of one side of his mouth, and charges $160 bucks a ticket out of the other.  Yeah, Yeah... I know... "people are willing to pay that..."  My retort: sure they are... under the very capitalist system that he routinely takes aim at.
