Robert Pollard Schedule
« on: February 04, 2005, 05:28:00 pm »
I have not posted much about GBV lately (since they are gone) but here is a schedule of what the man plans to release this year.

 2005 Robert Pollard Schedule

Robert Pollard - Relaxation of the Asshole LP - Entire 500 copy vinyl edition of Robert Pollard's "comedy' album sold out in days.

Robert Pollard - Zoom (Happens All Over The World) Soundtrack
 7"/CD EP - Fading Captain
 FEB 28 WEB DATE/APRIL 11 RETAIL DATE

Pollard is also discussing possibly writing music for a hush hush soft porn film by a major Hollywood director .

Guided By Voices - Forever Since Breakfast
Numbered (to 1000), Colored Vinyl LP Reissue
 MARCH 29 WEB DATE/APRIL 11 RETAIL DATE

The Moping Swans - Lightninghead to Coffee Pot - Robert Pollard with Greg Demos (ex-GBV) bass, Jim MacPherson (ex-GBV, ex-Breeders) drums, and Tony Conley (ex-Anacrusis, Pollard's pre-GBV metal band) guitar. It's described as jagged, kick-ass post-punk.
6 song EP to be released May 9 on Fading Captain

Circus Devils - Five - Pollard is currently collaborating with GBV producer Todd Tobias on the fourth Circus Devils album entitled "Five" to be released May 9.
Apparently, the 4th Circus Devils album Sgt. Disco has been shelved.

Guided By Voices - Propeller - Due in early summer is a vinyl reissue of GBV's Propeller LP on Scat Records. The original LP had many different handmade cover designs, and this reissue will feature the cover from Propeller #1.

Hazzard Hotrods - Bigger Trouble - CD reissue limited edition 1000 copies
End of May - Original Big Trouble LP with 7 recently discovered bonus tracks

Acid Ranch - As Forever - limited edition vinyl only release of new unearthed Acid Ranch tracks (Bob Pollard, Mitch Mitchell, Jim Pollard).

New edition of Pollard's literary and art journal Eat #2 - Fall 2005

Robert Pollard - From A Compound Eye - Pollard has already recorded a monumental solo album "From A Compound Eye", the double LP is tentatively to be released in Fall 2005.
Pollard says the 26-song, 70 minute epic includes all 4 Ps - pop, punk, prog & psychedelic.

The album is tentatively timed to coincide with the release of an authorized GBV book; Hunting Accidents: A Brief History Of Guided By Voices (written by James Greer, former GBV bassist/former Spin magazine senior editor). Published by Grove/Atlantic.

Tentative December 2005 - Guided By Voices - Suitcase II box set (more recordings found in the closet)

There are rumored to be a handful of live performances by Robert Pollard in the fall.

And while no live performances are in the cards until the fall, Pollard is expected to be on hand for the annual Guided By Voices "hoot" tribute on March 17 at Emo's in Austin, Texas, as part of the South by Southwest Festival.

 AND MAYBE MORE

What about the work he's collaborating with Tommy Keene on?

Must say, I'm glad not to be a rabid fan -- WAY too much product streaming forth on a constant basis.
