Go see Bruce Springsteen on this tour with the Seeger Sessions Band. I brought a friend last night who isn't into music at all, and he said, "I don't know how any person who listens to music couldn't appreciate this." The band creates a wall of sound and the music is beautiful, even transcendent at times. Bruce was chatty and fun last night, and didn't go off on any political rants, even though much of the music lent itself to that. Everyone in the band looks like they are having so much fun and it is really just a great musical experience. The set list is mostly made up of Seeger Sessions songs and other reworked folk songs, but he also played new arrangements of Johnny 99, Cadillac Ranch, If I Should Fall Behind, Open All Night, and You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch). I highly recommend this show, reviewers called it "Bruce's Hootenany," and it is definitely not to be missed.
