kick ass show! i got there in time to see scissors for lefty, which is exactly as xneverwherex describes as good indie pop. they are a strong act and a good polished complement to JLATL's more raw music.
the main act worked for the mo-nay. even if JL were not to have genes on her side, surely performing the way she does in all these shows keeps her stick thin. the crowd was raucous and enthusiastic in the front during the first third of the show. minutes before the main act started some chick near me bitch/sucker slapped from behind a colorful lesbian. a minor tussle broke out but quickly got diffused and the show started... with high energy. for a while the audience dancing was girltalk energetic.
JL is charismatic and interactive in a way reminiscent of Mike McColgan of the Dropkick Murphys and Street Dogs. More than once she sang in the audience.
The last three? songs made a nice contrasting finish.
The sound engineering was good.

I went to the Cat show a couple of years ago and even got to chat with Ms. Lewis and get a photo with her sweaty armpits
