the reviews for the Twilight Singers are in so here is my belated comments on the Capitol City vs Charm City show at the Blackcat.
The Heavycoats cancelled at the last minute which is a shame because their reverb soaked 80s sound would have been worth checking out.
The Hard Tomorrows need to get a great booking agent, a reliable van and hit the road. Nothing groundbreaking here just great songwriting and onstage presence and touring at this point will be the best way for them to get their name out. I'm really diggin their EP at the moment..
Two If By Sea were OK, decent performance would probably work better if caught on tape in a studio with a good producer. Lead singer looks like Iggy Pop's lost child.
The Bonapartes closed the night and because it was the bands last ever show not the most ideal way to see a band live. The material off their EP shows they had the potential to go on to bigger and better things. However, it was pretty clear why the band was splitting up. The new material was lackluster, cringe worthy and in need of lots of work. Some of the band members were going through the motions and ready to call it a day. The audience didn't seem to care that the show was the bands last either.
