You know what I loathe? I hate it when people say, "Thompson was one of the most relevant writers of the twentieth century...", because he was really of the 19th century:
FEAR & LOATHING: 1972 .
Now is the twentieth century: 2005 .
Why must we always subtract that extra century? It overstresses the brain remembering the myriad things one must in order to survive! Why not simplify life? Just refer to the years from 0000-to-0099 as the "Zeroth Century".
That's all it would take to solve it.
