BREAING NEWS!
 HAMMERJACKS NOW CLOSED!
FOR FOUR YEARS WE'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS NIGHTMARE OF BEING NEXT TO HAMMERJACKS. THEY TOOK OUR PARKING, THEIR PATRONS WERE A BUNCH OF FIGHT STARTING IDIOTS, AND THEY GENERALLY CAUSED A LOT OF ANNOYANCE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. BUT NO MORE! THEY CLOSED FOR GOOD THIS PAST WEEKEND, WHICH MEANS WE NOW HAVE ALL THE FREE PARKING WE COULD EVER NEED, AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DEALING WITH HASSLES IN THE PARKING LOT.

 from the latest Sonar email blast.

pardon my ignorance, but what was Hammerjacks?
Was it a gay bar for blue collar workers?  ;)

Sonar used to be in Canton and recently moved downtown.

Hammerjacks used to be a blue collar rock club that had rock shows.  It was sold when the land was developed into the Raven's and Orioles' stadiums.

The owner then openned a new club under the same name in another location in downtown Baltimore and tried to host rock shows that didn't go too well.  Thats when he brought in differentr promoters and held hip hop DJ nights.
