 dear suzane,
thanks for helping us out, here are your answers.
 anton alfred newcombe

 1. BJM have been around more than a decade but still
remain innovative. How do you do it?

first and formost,i love what i do.i have always loved
music and being creative.also i am facinated by this
meduim.i mean,i look at it kind of like this magic
machine, where i may be sad or happy or moody and i put
that emotion in to the music or the lyrics and get it
all out.but here's the thing, the listener may never
know that the song was the product of this pain or
that, they just feel the intensity, and get enjoyment
out of it.it's a very powerful, almost magic kind of
 thing.

 2. What do you like best about the new LP?

it's effect on the female libitto.no really,i feel
blessed to still be able to sit down and create songs
at all after releasing so many records, let alone be
creating some of the best work of my life.this album
has a quiet intensity,a somber yet optimistic outlook
and persona.i am greatfull so many people are
 responding favorbly to it.

 3. What's your songwriting motivation...in general and
 for this LP?

i really set out to showcase some of things i do well
that are unique from all of the other sort of garage
or flavor of the moment type bands around at right
now.i like music to reflect the full spectrum of human
emotion.i want an album as an experiance to take the
listener on a journey,to create the necesity for the
suspention of disbelief.i want my music to be
melodic, minimal, emotional and memrable.i think we did
a good job on all counts.

 4. What's a live show like and what do you like about
 playing live?

i like the fact that we are very intense and
unique.most of the time people can expect alot of
great songs (our set is around 35 this trip).we start
around 11p.m. and play until the venue makes everyone
leave.i love making people be late for work the day
after our show,i guess you could say i create
 hangovers for a living!

 5. Who are your fans and why do they like you guys?

we have a very diverse following around the world.i
have no idea why people like what they do.i just try
and create the type of music i love from my heart.

 6. What do you make of the acclaim you get and the
fact that people see you as a visionary?

i am greatfull.i believe it can only help us reach a
larger audiance.i have worked very hard at this for a
long time.i have been consistantly creative.i had to
wait until public oppinion swung around to my
direction.no one asked us to create our type of
music.there were no bands to emulate directly.we just
mixed up the elements of our heroes work and wa la.
will have to wait and see how kind history will be to
 us.

 7. What do you listen to when you're not doing your
 own music? Why?

i like pakistani music and indian music, old country
 and blues,psichedelic,folk,spanish,early
 electronic,echo and the bunnymen,the la's,the
smiths, blue eyed soul, jazz you know stuff like rassan
roland kirk, scot walker...i'm all over the map really.

 8. What's the biggest challenge the band faces?

the force of gravity.i think people should be
concerned with the political enviroment in this
country at the moment.word to the wise, stay awake!

 9. What's the biggest reward the band faces?

well if we work hard and stay consistant,i can only
hope we will be looked apon as a band that infuenced
alot of people and hopefully left the world a little
 better than we found it.

OK...I think that's it. If you have any questions,
please let me know, and thanks so much!

 Best
 Suzanne

 thank you suzane!
