I'm curious to see if they are comparable to etys... I have to wonder wonder how good the filter is. At $15 though, I can afford to give it an attempt. Ordered two pair. Thx for the link.

I smell something fishy here.  These things are identical to the Etymotic ER-20 that I have and are priced 3 bucks higher.  Is this a legitimate product rebranding or simply some douchebag who bought the Etymotics at a bulk rate and simply turns around and sells them as his own product?  Even the carrying case is the same minus the label.

If you are thinking about getting these seriously, save $3 and get them from the company who actually DESIGNED them.  They are $12 and you can get them from their site.

My two cents - I only use them when I know a concert is going to be REALLY fucking loud.

Umm, I thought they were real expensive. I must have been thinking of the headphone versions.

 Bad Markie.

I agree. GF and I swear by these earplugs (although we always get them from www.earinc.com). Concerts sound perfect w/ 'em. In the future I guess we'll just get them from Etymotics.

 Bad Markie.
Their in-ear headphones can definitly get expensive, although I understand they sound fantastic.  I have some in-ear sonys that sound like dog shit so I am really thinking about taking the plunge and getting some ety's for my ipod.

Not sure which model number actually, but they are the Fontopia just like those.  It might be those very ones.  In my experience it seems that Sony headphones have bloated bass and muffled highs.  Great for the guy who wants to go deaf jamming out to 50 cent but for the kind of music I listen to it doesn't sound natural in the slightest.  I had a pair of $100 over the ear Sony cans too that were similarly inadequate.  Once I got some Grados I GAVE the Sonys to a friend of mine.  BTW Grados may not look like much but they sound like heaven.
