could you help a brother out, again?
« on: December 01, 2007, 11:28:00 am »
i'll be in dc tonight, with friends, who are interested in going to see a band at a bar/club atmosphere after our comedy show.  and no, they hate the dead, so dark star is out.  we looking for something that's not a brew thru of college pukers and ass starers, that has good local blues/classic rock bands.  the only thing i can find is madams organ and the zoo bar.  can anybody please help.  we like to stay in the district only (georgetown, nw, downtown, ect) and hopely someplace "sorta safe."  thanks so much.

saloun in georgetown has the music you're looking for, but it can get pretty douche-tastic on weekend nights ... my best bet would be zoo bar if you want something relatively low-key, love that place

I've heard good things about the  guy who is playing madams organ tonight. And he cooks for you so you can avoid the latenight jumboslice.  I can't decide between that and the night of 100 elvises in Baltimore.

thanks for the data.  i checked out saloun online and the reviews i read of the scene spoke like this, "i used to love this place for the music and beer selection, but now it's like a douche, frat party where groups of ridiculous looking boys/men? follow women around.  what a waste."

that cajun cook florida blues guy, looks like the ticket.  i hope i/we can handle the miss organ's crowd.

how was the sauce boss?  i think i saw him at an oktoberfest thing in baltimore a couple of years ago.  the songs were stupid but the free gumbo was a nice touch.
