Black Cat question (Ash show)
« on: March 06, 2005, 06:54:00 pm »
I haven't been to the Black Cat in forever and I didn't used to go there a lot anyway so I've forgotten most things about it. Can anyone tell me the approximate set times for bands? I saw on their site that doors open 8:30 on weekdays w/ first band 9. I won't be able to get to the Ash show until probably 10 or later so do you recommend getting tickets in advance? I missed the last few Ash shows in the area so I have no clue how popular they are here. Tips on where to park would be great as well since I normally take the metro. Really stupid questions, I know. Thanks guys.

It is three bands, so I suspect:

 11pm ASH,

 10pm THE BRAVERY,

 9pmTHE CRIMEA

Last time they were getting some MTV play and it was busy, but not sold out. They have disappeared in America since then (the new album isn't released even now, is it?) It will not sell out.

You can park right on 14th or on any of the side streets, just do not leave anything in your car that may or may not worth look stealing.

The Bravery are getting a lot of attention, they could bring more in than Ash

The Crimea have some fans too so I wouldn't chance it selling out if you really want to see that show. In fact, I'll be very surprised if it doesn't sell out with all the excitement going on about this show awhile ago.

Crikey --the Bravery actually had a pre-sale for this show!  Of course, that coule be a way of generating buzz rather than responding to buzz.  I got tix in advance so I wouldn't miss out.

This show sold out in a week in SF.  The Bravery (not Ash) have announced another show in SF the day after Coachella at a venue twice the size of the current venue.  Unbelievable.
