Deerhoof anyone?

Anyone make it?  Pretty great show...they were super energized the entire set, and the new guy on guitar seemed to fit in perfectly.  In fact, I'm not sure I've seen them have this much fun on stage.  Good time.

I really enjoyed it. I'd been meaning to see them for years but something would always conflict with the shows. Opening with Milk Man was a great start. I like how they made use of the big empty stage.

While Seth and the bands may not agree, my favorite shows at 9:30 are less crowded like it was last night. The whole place had a relaxed vibe (even the "VIP" section was open, which I haven't seen in a while). For some reason it really felt reminiscent of shows in the late '90s.

I was just saying this to Joe.  It seemed empty on the stage at first, since they all typically line up at the front of the stage, and with no huge stacks or anything, there was plenty of open space behind them.  Coupled with the fact that they had no backdrop or the Rainbow Machine from the last tour, they seemed to small up there.

But man, when they started (particularly the new guy and Satomi), they were all over the place.  And man, Greg Saunier is a beast.

Good to hear. The Black Cat show was a lot of fun too.

Surprised about the low turnout, though. Wasn't the BC show pretty packed?

I think the BC show was sold out, no?

It did fill up a bit more once they went on, but a Sunday night/three band bill is a hard one to sell.  Hell, I almost skipped it out of laziness.

Anyone catch that McLovin'-looking dude going APE up front the whole night?

If the black cat show  didn't sell out, it got pretty damn close.

I do remember some girl in line telling me there were something like less than 50 tickets left.

EDIT: just realized you were talking about the black cat show.

I don't know, it was pretty near empty upstairs. It was a "stage out" show, so maybe sold out for that ticket price is a different thing than sold out for a full capacity show.

I was referring to the black cat one.

 I'll go edit that now.

The last Black Cat show was probably sold out by the time they hit the stage.
