true vine is awesome. while there's still a sentimental need for record stores, there's rarely a practical need since you can find basically everything online, but true vine is different, because they really have stuff that you can only find there. granted it's not necessarily the stuff i -- or most folks -- are most into, but that's the point. but if you're looking for afrobeat, dub, psych, experimental, whatever, or tons of old vinyl to dig through, it's a great place to visit. plus they have cool shows there sometimes.

what BookerT said. we really need a store like this in dc. don't go there expecting to find indie rock and britpop. if you're into experimental/noise, free jazz, psych, delta blues, esoterica/novelty, ethnic music, spoken word, etc, true vine is the place to be.

A few doors down on the same block is Sturgis Antiques which has a very choice selection of rare vinyl taboot.
