I don't feel like playing this list game but I do want to include ...

Phil Manzenera (Roxy Music / 801)

Oh yeah, and Dupek, wasn't John Goodsall one of those often session players or with Godley and Cream or Soft Machine or Matching Mole or Brand X? I can't remember and don't feel like researching now. I definitely know his name from some earlier works. Might have worked with Brian Eno or King Crimson.

Jag: Yes, yes & YES!

I should add a coda to the list: Besides no legends, No stiffs either.

Anyone who said Hendrix/Gatton/Bronson/Chunders go to the end of the line.

ALso Phil did guitar work on Eno's solo "pop" albums.

I would choose classical guitarists:
 Julian Bream
 Andres Segovia
 Kazuhito Yamashita
 Manuel Barrueco
 Jozsef Eotvos
Try Eotvos playing Goldberg Variation 1

 Yes, yes..grossly underrated.

Why does nobody ever bring up Carlos Alomar...he's definately one of the greats.

He fell out of favor after he spit in that umpire's face.

He's still with us, although his brother is no longer in the band (due, in part, to the smack).

Can't believe I forgot Manzanera and Alomar, two all-time favorites. I like Chris Spedding, Mick Taylor and Link Wray too. Not to mention DC's other late guitar hero, Roy Buchanan. Five is not enough!
