I have more than 10.  I know, that's cheating, but anyway---in chronological order:

The Rolling Stones 1/16, MSG, NYC
The Rolling Stones, 1/18, MSG, NYC
 Joe Jackson, 4/7, 930 club
 Cheap Trick 4/29, 930 club
 Foo Fighters, 4/30, Patriot Center
 Foo Fighters, 5/1, BC
The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, The Pretenders 6/20, Leipzig, Germany
 Bruce Springsteen, 6/28, Milan, Italy
 Carlsonics, sometime in July, Ft.Reno
Journey, REO Speedwagon, Styx, 7/23, MCI Center (surprised Bags left this off the list!)
Iron Maiden/Dio/Motorhead, 7/29, Merriweather Post (front row!)
Soul Asylum, on/about 8/2, Live on Penn
 Sex Pistols, 8/24, 930 club
 Deathray Davies, 8/24, Velvet Lounge
 Cheap Trick 9/4, 930 Club
 Bruce Springsteen, 9/13, FedEx
Carlsonics/Washington Social Club, BC (in Sept., i think)
 Superchunk, 10/18, BC
 Duran Duran, 11/9, Warner Theater
 Washington Social Club, 11/22, VL

There were some others i saw that were good too--Yo La Tengo, George Clinton, Wrens, Pretenders--but i had to cut this list off somewhere...

I'd suggest viewing from upstairs then where peeps are more lax, for a more pleasant experience.

Look at tooms, all braggin' and shit.  Geez.

And yeah, that Styx/REO Speedwagon show was amazing.  Could have done without Journey (who of course was the headliner), but it was all good.  Talk about revelling in nostalgia and schtick!

I really wanted to go to that New Model Army show but it was in that 2 weeks span of every fucking band in the world touring DC. Too much good and not enough time, not to mention way too many trips to DC.

I haven't seen many shows this year,

Rhett Miller, Radiohead, Libertine's, Interpol (which I think was really all about the Occidentals for me)....

everyshow I went to for a reason and enjoyed thoroughly for its own merits, but this weekend I was in Philly and I have say I saw one of the best shows I've seen in a long time.  Placebo played at Theater of Living Arts.  The sound is not always the best in that joint, but the crowd was more into it than I have seen in a long time at a show.  This is the first time I'd seen Plecebo live, sad to say I missed stella star- heard they had a good set too.

That Stones-AC/DC-Pretenders show was great.  About 1/3 to half the people were there for AC/DC and they rocked. the stones were good too, as were the Pretenders, although the Prentenders show at 9:30 was much better.  Not that many people knew the Pretneders, although on e of their sappy ballads got the biggest response, surprisingly ("I'll Stand by You").  It was in a big field in a larger town in eastern Germany. I kind of just showed up and went
