is there any need to jump on the slint tickets soon?  i've got mine, but my friend isn't sure if he can attend and he wants to know how long he can hold off.

At  this juncture,  there are still plenty of tickets left.  The show will probably sell out in advance though so your "friend" probably shouldn't dawdle too long.
