I saw Cold War Kids open for Tapes 'n Tapes in B'more. There were really good. Half-considering going tonight.

midlake might've been okay, but for me an opener has to be pretty incredible or something i'm looking forward to, so as to not end up forgotten.
cold war kids were totally worthy though... i went out of curiosity and wasn't expecting them tto be so good. very rockin'.

Ugh, so it was worth it?  I kept trying to sell the show to my friends but no one ended up wanting to go down . . . We spent the night with Head-Roc instead.

Cold War Kids were fantastic, their sound really held up well in the back stage.  Midlake was interesting, they had a screen up behind them, that played movies, or music videos, which at times distracted me from the music, but I felt they were definitely worth further inquiry.  I only stuck around for a song or two from Soundteam, and really didnâ??t like the lead singerâ??s voice so I ditched.

I've heard a couple of tracks off of the new Midlake album, and liked them quite much. Wish we had been able to go, but the 4:30 alarm my wife was facing was too early to allow for any late night hijinks.
