TVOTR

Getting tickets was surprisingly easy.  I got in twice and picked up two tickets each time.

Yikes, you may have spoken too fast.  It's sold out now.

Time to take the next logical step and password-protect soft sales.

Maybe build in some sort of scheme where each individual e-blast subscriber gets a random personalized soft sale PW.

This wasn't a soft-sale, though, right?  I thought this was the actual on-sale date.  Either way, I managed to grab one pretty easily.  Not sure I'll go in the long run...these guys have lost me a bit over the years.  I don't think they'll ever beat that show in Baltimore at the Supreme Imperial (or whatever it was called).  Man, that was fantastic...last time I saw Walkman (wasn't that his forum name?).

It was listed under the soft sales in the e-mail blast.

Anyway, I got my ticket!

my take on this: soft sale does not matter. When the dates are announced via other music news websites like pitchfork prior to the on sale "soft sale" date, it will sell out if it's a hot ticket. People have access to on sale info from tickets.com just by doing a search.

It was never an issue until recently with Animal Collective, though.

Yep -  additionally, many of these dates are listed on the artist's websites (like TVOTR).  There's not much to stop people from searching Tickets.com for the artist, or the club.
