The first few times I saw them, touring for Madonna and STC were great, I thought (plus, they let me sing, er scream the end of A Perfect Teenhood at the Black Cat
), but after I realized they delicately trash instruments at every show, etc. etc., it got a little old.
I still think they suffer from the Neil Busch's departure. And the new songs just dont' have that old edge, which I think mostly came from Jason Reece's constantly rolling drums. Makes me want to listen to Madonna right now...
i love their albums, but, i too, was not too impressed with thier live show.
it was 108 degrees outside when i saw them, that may have had something to do with it.
