Bettye LaVette DJ Setlist
« on: March 10, 2009, 10:27:31 am »
Here is what was on offer from the DJ booth last night before and and after Bettye.  Lots of classics along with plenty of top quality lesser know tracks , with an emphasis on what was coming out of Detroit and Memphis  during the 60's.

After the show Bettye told me that she enjoyed listening to them in her dressing room before going on stage.

Feel free to ask about any of the tracks played.

Great show last night!!  Despite her cold, she continued singing and slowed down the tempo for the second half. I thought it was unique and brilliant because it brought out her voice and it's unique qualities.

i loved your stuff, kosmo! what an honor to dj for a legend!

was i the only one surprised that it was 3/4 empty? i thought it would sell out in less than a week and there was hardly anyone there! there were even more people at lisa hannigan and i expected that show to be like 100 people.

Awesome, Koz. Congrats and great list. I'm sure it was nice to see her at 930...she's mostly been at Iota, no?
