Roll Call: John Davis (Superdrag)
« on: April 01, 2005, 01:24:00 pm »
Anyone else going to the Iota show Sunday night? I saw the CD release show in Knoxville last month and was impressed. Definitely not playing with musicians the caliber of Superdrag, but they do well with the new material. Lots of pedal steel. I know some people are put off by the religious lyrics but if you were a fan of his older stuff, you'll be pleased.

I dug it. Just did the new album in a different order and one new song. The new band has definitely gotten a lot tighter since I saw them in Knoxville last month. Only downside was the women who spent the 1st half of the show screaming into her cellphone about her blind date gone awry. (The dude ditched her after an ill-fated dinner in the cafe.) Sample dialog heard between songs: "So I'm not on a date anymore! Can you believe that???" Yes, sweetheart, we all can believe that.
