The Roots

Did anyone go last night?  I am going to tonight's show and was wondering what the deal was.  Looks like no opener and they are coming on at 8:30.  How long was the set? Thanks!

yup, i was there last night.  good show.  club website said the band would go on at 8:30, but they didn't hit the stage until 9.  no opener.  played for a little over 2 hours.

edit: club website has 9:00 as tonight's start time.

Came on at 9, went off around 11:30.

Excellent show. I've never seen a band so completely in sync with each other in every way. If I had the money, I'd try and get a ticket to tonight's show as well. Such an energetic performance.

Back in the 90's, I had a brief dalliance with a woman from Philly who had herself dallied with one of the Roots.

Jaw-droppingly great last night.  One of the best shows of 2009, no doubt.

Last night was fantastic. Going back for round II. On at 9:05ish, off by 11:24. They have enough material to be able to play a completely different set tonight and have it be just as good.

Sounds great.

I heard Wale showed up last night.  Anyone know if hell be back tonight?  If not, I'll see him on Friday, but was curious.

The place erupted when Wale came out. I've never listened to him, but I was wondering before the show if they'd bring him out. I'd imagine he'll be there tonight as well. He did two songs with the Roots. One of them was Rising Up, and the other must have been a Wale track, because I didn't recognize it. Pretty neat that he was there, considering he's got two shows of his own at the Club in a few days, sold out or close to it.
