 ("I'm going back to New York City / I do believe I've had enough!")
 
 Beasties have tons and tons of ingenious samples, but this one just works so damn well for some reason and really sticks in my head

Speaking of samples I'm listening the Girl Talk album and how the hell did they manage to clear all the samples in this one, it must have cost a fortune to put this one out.  Already on track four and I heard The Pixies, Bittersweet Symphony, tons of stuff I can't put my finger on...
 
 And yes the Beasties have had some great samples... Love The Jam sample of the lyric at the end of the otherwise instrumental b-side track "And What You Give Is What You Get".
 
 The samples in Beat Dis by Bomb The Bass never fail to amaze..

The samples of folk and blues that Moby uses are good.  And any hillbilly audio that Primus ever used was classic.  But my favorite is Public Enemy sampling Slayer for "She Watch Channel Zero".

I second the motion on "She Watch Channel Zero"
 Sampling the guitar riff of "That Lady" by the Isley Brothers is probably my favorite Beastie Boys sample along with the sample of the MC saying "HERE'S SOMETHIN' FRESH".

Pop Will Eat Itself sampling "Funkytown" into "I wanna be your dog", or their great sampling from "Taxi Driver" (WE are the people).

so in other words buy a copy or two as it's likely the master tapes could be destroyed at some point    i'm wondering how eMusic is getting away with offering that for download. beginning to wonder if it isn't the ultimate summer record, with all those great hooks and rap lines brought together.  recognizing some of the raps but can't identify the artists by name and need to find a website listing out the other samples before i go mental trying to figure them out.  
 
 identifications so far included Phantom Planet, Pilot, Madonna, Elastica, Kansas, Billy Squire, Pixies, Breeders, Waitresses, The Rentals, Verve, Gwen Steffani, etc, etc, etc.... apparently there is a Neutral Milk Hotel sample buried in there as well.

The Beasties sample a single note from "Mississippi Queen" on "Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun".  So perfect.
 
 In fact - all the samples from Paul's Boutique are pretty clever.
 
 Using "Back In Black" as the basis for "Rock Hard" was pretty much genius too.

I dug "Rock Hard" as well but I'll bet that sample was all Rubin especially being that he was their DJ back when that 12" came out (aka Double R).
