Emment Swimming

Anyone going?

I'm going primarily to enjoy the vastly talented Don Dixon, and his merry band of equally talented singer/songwriters/musicians.  Many of my favorite records have been produced, engineered or included songs written by Dixon.

I'd go see a Don Dixon show, but I'm gonna pass on this one.

I'm biased because they're one of my favorite groups, but emmet's still great.  They're doing new material as well as their "classics".  And Don's been known to guest on a couple of their songs, too.

Wowie Zowie did Dixon, Hoover, Crenshaw and Lloyd turn in a wonderful set last night.  Selfishly I wished they had done more of Dixon's material, as I know it the best.  But when you have three other top notch songwriters on stage it's only fair to do it round robin.  A friend was telling me that the setlist has been changing nightly on this tour.

The evening closed out with the playing of "Praying Mantis" Dixon signature tune, the amassed faithful were grooving and grinning...
