Doherty: The novel Pete Doherty is considering writing a book, he has claimed.
The Babyshambles star is understood to have revealed in a new interview that he's very serious about putting his literary skills to work on a novel as well as music.
He explained: "Every day I think about it; writing and music thrive off each other, they goad each other along, they make something complete."
Talking more broadly about the media and the way in which he is perceived, Doherty complained about his treatment in the national press.
He told the East London Advertiser: "I'm not really doing any interviews at the moment. The nationals only care about the drugs.
"I'm part of celebrity culture, but I'm also part of a hospital waiting list, and to the people who are worried about me being a bad role model on young people - why do the media only focus on the drugs then?"
