English Beat / Soul Asylum DJ Setlist (900 Miles Edition
« on: March 18, 2006, 10:26:00 am »
Rockpile - "When I Write The Book"
Ike & Tina Turner - "Whole Lotta Love"
Thin Lizzy - "Whiskey By The Jar"
 Boomtown Rats - "Rat Trap"
Mighty Mighty Bosstones - "The Impression I Got"
 Flogging Molly - "Drunken Lullabies"
Violent Femmes - "Blister In the Sun"
Harvey Danger - "Flag Pole Sitta"
 Green Day - "Loveview"
 Proclaimers - "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)"
Cary Brothers - "Waiting For Your Letter"
Judybats - "Ugly On the Outside"
Great Big Sea - "The Night Pat Murphy Died"
 Matthew Sweet - "Girlfriend"
 U2 - "I Throw A Brick Through a Window"
Waterboys - "Whole Of The Moon"
 Verve - "Bittersweet Symphony"
Edwin Collins - "A Girl Like You"

 Soul Asylum

Pale Stars - "Everything Is Wrong"
Big Country - "Fields of Fire (400 miles)"
Icicle Works - "Whisper To A Scream"
 INXS - "Suicide Blonde"
Simple Minds - "New Gold Dreams"
Madness - "It Must Be Love"
 Equals - "Baby Come Back"
 The Maytals - "Pressure Drop"
Pogues - "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah"
Afro Celt Sound System - "Whirl-Y-Reel"

 English Beat

 Bob Marley - "Jammin"
Dexys Midnight Runners - "Come On Eileen"
Musical Youth - "Pass the Dutchie"
 Culture Club - "I'll Tumble 4 Ya"
Police - "Everything Little She Does Is Magic"
Chrissie Hynde & UB40 - "I Got You Babe" (Got gonged over this one which is what happens when you leave the Peter Tosh at home)
 Danny Wilson - "Mary's Pray"

Good show... The audience was moving and grooving for the English Beat for the entire 100 minute set.  Dave Wakeling did the show without a setlist and there was lots of interaction with the audience.  Dave's still got a great voice, but it was like seeing General Public doing English Beat songs, there was something missing beside Ranking Roger.

If you like "Runaway Train" then Soul Asylum didn't disappoint, a raucous hit filled 50 minute set, almost as if they are warming up for radio festival season...

Mercy! Mercy!  I was already lathered up after EB.  Were you trying to give me my 2nd... or 3rd Eighties Eargasm?    :D

 Thanks!
