Ear/Hearing Protection -- Seeking Advice

I just had a recent scare with ear damage/hearing loss that ended up having nothing to do with the half-a-million (approximate) concerts I've attended.
All fine now, but having a bit of a scared-straight concept, I am considering upping the ear protection game.

The main parameter would be cost.  Not only do I not have much dough to spend, I'd want to account for replacements and/or extra sets.   Another parameter would be least-dorky-as-possible.

Any assistance?

I either made this same thread a few years ago or it was inside a thread, but sweetcell recommended these and they've been great (when I remember to bring them to shows).

I'm 90% these are the brand, would have to confirm.

I found those a little small but if you look at the inconspicuous ear holes walruses have just behind the eyes, you probably understand why.

Etymotics or Earasers.

Hit Guitar Center or any other larger music store and they'll have a selection of similar style (etymotics) ear plugs.
Hearoes get good reviews and have a range of price options.
I've never been able to hold onto a pair, but gave one to my dad who has significant hearing loss and they actually helped him enjoy the most recent shows he's been to, Dead and friends or whatever they're calling the permutation of that band.

Ok but we should be talkin bout quality..cheap plugs kill all the highs read treble..itbecomes waay boomy and sounds so bad i cant..

yes, they do a decent job of letting in the high end so it isn't all boom & bass.  try 'em, you'll like 'em.

I use the etymonics and love them. They should be good for most shows.
