So there's ample time for a DC area date. Hopefully they'll announce one soon. I'm guessing it'll be the Black Cat....unless someone wants to propose a Sloan/The Dears double header at the 9:30.  :)

really, man.  Not all Canadian music is good.  and i think the Dears just played here, with TSOOL.  Once is enough.  I think these guys are definitely only thriving off the "its cool to be from Montreal" thing.

have you heard  The Organ  from BC?

yeah - I know they were here with The Soundtrack of Our Lives. But this is a headlining gig.

Hey! Not everyone has to like them. If you don't like, then don't go. But I read quite a few posts in the Forum where people said they dug The Dears set. I think a headlining gig will allow them to play a wider variety of stuff.

And yes - I've heard of the Organ. They're on tour, too, this spring but so far I don't see them coming any closer than a mid-week gig in Pittsburgh. If my work schedule isn't too rough then I might roadtrip out there, but I've still got my fingers crossed for a DC area show.

If you like The Organ, you might want to check out Feist (they're opening for British Sea Power) and Stars (opening for Ivy).

I saw the Organ at CMJ last October. They opened for a band I wanted to see. Not bad initially but eventually the songs started to all sound the same. I was tired of them by the end of the set.

To be honest, I *just* bought their CD on a trip to Ottawa last weekend and haven't given the whole CD a good listening to. So I can't say whether or not I like it (or even if YOU would think it's good  ;) )

But it's not just a she - all five members are female.
