so can we choose between

 Bob Seger Circa "Smokin' O.P's

 or

Bob Seger the rest is all crap?

isn't this statement a bit of an oxymoron?

  With a musical career spanning five decades, over 50 million albums sold, and millions of fans worldwide, Seger is the true voice of blue collar rock & roll and a treasure to the state of Michigan;

Growing up I always thought the lyrics to "Turn the Page" were pretty cool.

Most times you can't hear 'em talk,
 other times you can
 All the same old cliches,
"Is that a woman or a man?"
 And you always seem outnumbered,
you don't dare make a stand.

 Out there in the spotlight
 you're a million miles away
 Every ounce of energy
 you try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body
like the music that you play
 Later in the evening
as you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
 ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette,
 rememberin' what she said

I thought that was a Metallica song?

    ;)

 I like these lyrics better:

She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
 Way up firm and high

Oh yeah, how could I forget those points sitting way up firm and high?
now you got me singing "working on my night moves.  trying to lose those akward teenage blues." (I think?)

All this Seger talk's got me reminiscing...way back in high school, at a school dance (it feels funny to even write that), the prettiest girl of all asked me to slowdance. It was a double feature of Bob Seger ~ Turn the Page & We've Got Tonight.
10 minutes of complete bliss and a formative lesson on the finer 'points'.

 Yep...that's a good story.    :o

ok i'll admit that "night moves" was my era's "in my room" that doesn't mean that i have any use for either in my life now.

speaking of covers... i'm aware of people who actually think that "behind blue eyes" is a new damp scones song. has radio ever played anything shate out durst's arse that wasn't a cover?

i also wonder how much "independent promotion money" it took to get 311's absolute buthering of the Cure's "Love Song" on the radio...
