First Acts Revealed for Pitchfork's Intonation Festival
 
 Rob Kleckner reports:
 We report so much news that it's nice to break a story involving ourselves now and then. As previously reported, Pitchfork is curating the first annual Intonation Music Festival in Chicago. It will be held on Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17, at Pulaski Park. The event will feature up to 24 acts, including a DJ tent courtesy of Biz3. We are proud to announce the initial group of artists will be:

 Magnolia Electric Co.

 The gates will open at noon each day, and there will be no advance tickets (which means no dealing with the evils of Ticketmaster or scalpers). Admission will be $10 at the door and certain proceeds will go to benefit the Chicago Park District's after-school music programs. The park is located at 1419 W. The Pulaski Park Fieldhouse will be filled with the best selection of vinyl, CDs & posters, available under one roof in the entire Chicagoland area! The fair will feature aisles and aisles of everything a music aficionado could possibly want! We'll have vendors offering everything from rock, pop, psychedelia and folk, to soul, jazz, country, international, R&B, hip-hop, rock-a-billy and every genre in-between! If it's rare or weird, we'll have that too.

 Now, some of you might remember back when this thing was still scheduled to throw down at Pulaski Park, but we've decided to move it to Union Park instead, to ensure that we've got enough room to accomodate everyone. The new space is vastly bigger, and has a pretty tight little view of the Chicago skyline, to boot.
 
 The festival gates open at noon each day. Advance ticket sales will go on sale this Wednesday, May 18. The cost per ticket will be a mere $15 per day, and a limited number of $22 two-day passes will be available as well. Yes, but I will have reached my limit of one trip to the Midwest in any 365 day period before then.

but there is so much to do there, you can visit st. louis and see such sights as the arch and ..... and ..... i guess go to a Cardinals game, that will fill at least one evening

the museum of art building designed by Santiago Calatrava seems cool...then off for funnel cakes and fried bologne with Bud Selig...as Alice Cooper once said "Mili-wa'-kay, stands for the good land"..

I was really excited to go to Busch in my last trip to the Midwest, but I had to cancel the trip.  I'll catch a game there someday.

I really wish I could go to this.  Les Savy Fav???  I hope they're coming out of hiatus and not just playing this one show.  They're fantastic.  I'm really jealous of my chicago friends.
