I'm seeing them again at a small venue in April.  If I could have heard them over the chatter of teens and chardonnay sipping yuppies, they may have sounded great. I'll never know.  I will tell you this - I erupted[/i] on a click of 3-4 20 somethings chick who kept talking louder and louder as SSPU got louder and louder.  Smackette was not happy with me and left for a few minutes out of embarassment.  I really tried to see SSPU but the crowd made it nearly impossible.  I'm not even sure if being any closer to the stage would have made it any better because the majority of the front crowd were teenie boppers there to see Snow Patrol, although the ones in front tend to be music fans and may have been more attentive.

If anything, get there early and get close to the stage.  And I hope you have a better experience then I did.

The last time I saw them in SF at Slims - 470 people.  That's quite the jump.

I hope so.
Yeah, they were doing a few shows at the Cat a while ago but I couldn't go to any of them.
And all I ever thought of them as was that cool little Silverlake band...playing their little Spaceland shows and Sea Level in-stores...now they're on mtv.  So it will be interesting   :)

I usually try to get up close to photograph anyway, so I'll make sure to get there super early.  Thanks for the tip.

Doubtful. I was referring to a west coast swing of dates they are playing to warm up for Coachella.

 HEADLINE DATES
April 12, Richards on Richards / Vancouver, BC
 April 13, Neumo's / Seattle, WA
April 14, Crystal Ballroom / Portland, OR
April 16, The Independent / San Francisco, CA

(I'm sure some LA dates will be in here)

April 27, Coachella Music & Arts Festival / Indio, CA

 HEADLINE DATE
May 4, The Clubhouse / Tempe, AZ

I know the song and no, they didn't play it in SF, Portland or Salt Lake.  Looking at that set list I posted above, we didn't get Tiny Little Fractures either, but Portland did.

Oh, and SSPU are definitely making a habit of starting 10 minutes early, so be prepared for them to start 10 minutes before the time it says on your ticket.
