from the 930.com front page:
  Coming to AU Bender Arena:
 SNOW PATROL
 Friday, March 23
This show is now sold out..
wow, didn't think this one was going to sell out this quickly.  in fact, i didn't think it was going to sell out at all.  hope bender arena won't be too crowded... maybe the crowd will thin out a bit after OK Go.

Wow, indeed.  I was considering going to this just to see Silversun Pickups, but wasn't gung-ho about the venue/price.

It may also be due to the University holding back tickets so students can get in if they want. Or... a lot of people really want to see them.

Damn, I hope I am not teaching that night.

Probably a lot of people like me and my friend taking our teenage daughters. How many people does Bender hold anyway?

according to  its website, bender holds 6000 for concerts.

it's general admission so unless your teens are especially tall, i'd recommend getting a spot on the risers/seats so you can see the stage.  standing on the floor = young ladies spend the evening looking at back of people's heads - and we wouldn't want them to miss those dreamy men on stage, right?

out of curiosity: which band(s) are the teens most interested in?

Snow Patrol is the one with the huge cross-over hit that fits right along with crap like James Blunt and the Fray, so I'd imagine its them for the most part.

True, but I can't imagine many men wanting to see Snow Patrol, unless they were dragged there my their boyfriend. So not many tall people to contend with.

I'm not purposefully being snarky here, but how is Snow Patrol any different than bands like the Goo Goo Dolls?  Are the rest of their songs vastly different from "Chasing Cars"?  I'm just not sure why they're such a big draw for some boardies that seems to hate middle-of-the-road mainstream rock.
