Question:

Is "Brownie" still doing a "heck of a job," according to the President?

 Classic.

Gregory Hines couldn't have tap danced that fast. Just beautiful.

But in the end, it won't matter. The Republicans maybe self-serving, hypocritical, and in big business' back pocket but they're damn smart and geniuses at media manipulation. On the other hand, the Dems are stupid and spineless. The Republicans will continue to wrap themselves in the flag and carry the cross on their back - all the way to reelection.

I don't think I agree.

The media has a very vested stake in this because they had people that suffered through it alongside the victims in New Orleans.

I don't think the media is likely to let them get away with this one.

The media have been completed controlled and manipulated for over five years and have struggled to gain access to administration officials. If they questioned the military or the war the were called unpatriotic and denied access to officials. The administration did not want the media covering the war...to them, the media were a nuscience.

I think this will be a bit of payback.    How do you criticize the media for questioning Bush and Co. about the response to Katrina.  Ultimately, the administration needs the media to show that they are helping the people of N.O. and that they are caring individuals. The media are not going to tell this story.

For once, the media has the power.

I'd LOVE to be proven wrong. Believe me, I would.

But I don't think the press can maintain their sense of outrage in the long run. Nothing short of an indictment or impeachment is going to keep this going past the next six months.

Besides, who really cares about poor people? Especially when they're poor black people? Not the media - or they would have been covering their problems for the past few decades.

I'll gladly make a bet with anyone here - a friendly one...make it a beer at the Back Bar. You'll see the estate tax repealed and the existing tax cuts made permanent within one year. No matter that the relief effort is going to exceed $50 billion and that we're financing a "war". I would love to lose this bet and buy you a beer.

How is it possible that he can use the word focus, or any derivation thereof, 27 times in one press conference?

Reminds me of some other phrases often repeated by the administration...
