indie music fiesta tonight (Fri, April 2nd)
« on: April 02, 2004, 11:48:00 am »
Just wanted to let everyone know my friend Brandon and I will be hosting our monthly indie music night, "We Fought the Big One" over at The Marx Cafe tonight.  It's free, 21+, and we spin from 10pm till 3am.  If you don't know where The Marx Cafe is, it's in Mt. Pleasant (3203 Mt. Pleasant St to be precise), sorta behind Adams Morgan.

The music is a mix of old, new, familiar and not-so-familiar with a bit of art-school punk, post punk, jangle pop, shoegaze, brit pop and even a bit of the indie electro stuff.  Here's last month's setlist for a better idea...

Wish I could have made it out. Just too many things keeping me anchored in rained out Baltimore right now.

Special pluses for playing all that Shoegaze, especially Bark Psychosis, Monster Movie, Colder, and Chapterhouse. Balter Space too. Another underrated band.
