Did anyone go to the show?  I was supposed to but couldn't at the last second.  Details?  Reviews?

Never seen 'em before and never heard the album before, so I may not be best to reply since I can't comment on setlist or intracacies.

Decent show, it appeared, even if a good number of songs were dirge-ish or slow/introspective/gloomy.(If they ever do a 40-min opening band set of just rockers, it'd be fantastic.)

Show was almost 100 mins.  Band seemed sincerely happy to be there, saying a previous time in DC they were at MetroCafe and came to 930 as patrons and "dreamed" of being here...

Crowd -- which sold out -- was like a typical D.C. crowd -- noisy, as in talking.  People talked the e-n-t-i-r-e time.  So annoying.

I'd agree with Rich that more up-tempo might have been better, but still a very, very fine show.  Compared to other MMJ performances, I dunno, this was the first time I'd seen them.  Compared to most of what I've seen in the past year or so, first rate.  Unbelievably tight for having two brand new band members, compelling stage presence, and what a voice!  If you like their music at all, you owe it to yourself to see them play it live.

Yeah, the crowd sucked (if you wanna talk loud with your jerkwad friends all night, save the ticket price and stay home) but the sound was so good it didn't matter that much (kudos to the engineering).

I can't stand it when people talk through a show.  Biggest pet peeve in the world.  Thanks for the reviews!

I liked MMJ's performance a lot. I'd agree there were a couple too many slow songs, especially the first two of the encore, but the best songs on It Still Moves sounded excellent. Great sound too.

Citizen Cope was horrifically boring. The most interesting sounds coming off of the stage were from pre-recorded tapes.

Doctor Dog was very amusing and interesting. Their disc sounds almost nothing like their stage show, and is just as odd. Good stuff.
