The official answer is below. Unofficially, yes, sometimes these things are announced other places (like a band's website) and they do happen. The rumor is The Stills and Metric are playing. Tickets are not available until it's listed on the 9:30 Club website schedule, however.
"We announce new shows every Thursday. Once a show is announced the tickets will be available. If you don't want to check our website every Thursday morning then you also have the option of sending an e-mail to
list_serve@930.com and then you will get e-mail updates from us as tickets to our events become available for purchase."
