I just had to share this with some folks.
I was in lovely Milwaukee, WI this weekend and stopped by the monumental crap-band-festival Summerfest. Moby was free, so why not?
He played covers. Well. Including:
Billy Idol (rebel yell)
Radiohead (a bossa nova version of Creep!)
The Doors (break on through)
Led Zeppelin (his two-song encore, whole lotta love and immigrant song)
Though the teenage crowd had this to say:
"I don't like his new stuff, it was weird."
"This sounds like metal."
"Let's go."
"I thought you were supposed to play songs people know for the encore."
We had an awesome time.
I'm not a Moby fan, but I now have a whole new level of respect for the guy.
