No, he's a new indie rocker from Nebraska.

I wonder why this show was moved from the Birchmere to 9:30?

Thanks, I'm a big fan...and I don't even have to deal with the miserable twats at the Shusmere to see him now.

So, at the Birchmere they are "miserable twats" and at the 9:30 they are "miserable gits"

What's the difference between a twat and a git?

personally there are times when seeing a show at the Birchmere is good thing... had the Love "Forever Changes" show been at the black cat, i suspect mr. smith would have been quoting Tony Montana to the hipsters chatting away at the bar.

you do know that Dave Matthews cites Johnny Clegg as a major influence meaning there will probably be a number of backwards caps in the audience.

For your information, Marty McSmartypants...I only ever said there was one miserable git at the 930 who worked the back bar, everyone else there are absolute gems, which I've said many many times.

I don't think it's any great revelation about the staff at the Sushmere.

Kosmo...I agree, some shows are well suited to the Sushmere. For example, I really enjoyed seeing Marianne Faithfull there.

excluding the "rules" the biggest differences between the birchmere and the 9:30 club is the atomsphere and character.  walk into the birchmere and it feels sterile and contrived capped off with overpriced bland food.  where as the 9:30 club feels real, not something built in a strip mall.  the 9:30 staph have personalities.  plus the dj's are better at the 9:30 club   :D

So I guess the David Byrne shows at the Birchmere are not going to be as good as the one at the 9:30 in 2001? That one may have been one of the very best shows I've ever seen in DC.
