complete rip-off

"Pictures of Matchstick Men" by The Status Quo
-- disc 3, track 21 of "Nuggets, Vol. 2: Original Artyfacts From the British Empire & Beyond", released 1968

"Equus" by Blonde Redhead on "Misery Is a Butterfly"

the lead vocal on the chorus of "Equus" ("Allow me to show you, the way which I adore you") is the EXACT same melody as the lead guitar (and lead vocal, towards the end of the track) in "Pictures of Matchstick Men"

I don't know much about IP law, or royalties and the like, but if David Bowie got cash from Vanilla Ice, Status Quo should sue the hell out of Blonde Redhead
