I say this in every BB thread - don't get your hopes up.
HR is pretty terrible live these days - make that the last 10 years or so at least. Just punching a clock at this point.
Though maybe that fact that it's election night will give him some venom for the show.
The last full show I saw was in 95 or 96 ...he came out and sang a few songs, barely, before refusing to go any further. Lights came up and that was it. Everything ended with their manager pleading with the audience saying he'd done everything he could to get him to continue. It was a near riot...this was in Philly where I was living at the time. I remember hearing that HR was thrown in jail for assaulting the manager a few days later.
Then about 5 years ago I saw them at the club and he was just phoning it in, not even really singing the songs, just kind of speaking the lyrics, out of time and being a condescending prick. We left after 5 songs or so.
Everything I've read and heard about their performanced over this period have suggested that this is pretty much par for the course.
Very sad, considering this was seriously one of the most electrifying live bands I've ever seen way "back in the day" (cue the dr. doom theme music
